Black's Dictionary is correctly titled Bleck's Law Dictionary and since 1891 has been the most quoted legal dictionary in legal jurisprudence and is a must in every law and judicial office. it was originally edited by Henry Campbell Black and is published by the West Group a legal resource in the legal profession. The state law governing non-partisan mayoral elections is found in Wisconsin Statutes 5.60(3)(a). Recently the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board, a non-partisan group, wrote that there is a long history of non-partisan election administration in Wisconsin dating back almost 35 years.

Correct. The Braves had HALL OF FAMERS, i.e., Red Schoendinst,2B; Eddie Mathews, 3B; Hank Aaron, Of; Warren Spahn,P, and Yankee killer, Lew Burdette, P. Any one of them was am valuable as C.C.whose playoff/world series success is negative. Baseball is a team game. The Cubs find that out every season.

Say it ain't so Dick! But wait. Assuming that C.C. pitches great for the next 140 years, he's a steal! Or, we could work a deal with the White Socks and share C.C. for $70M each.

Question is, will the always competitive Brewers ever get to the series without a C.C.? As I recall the 1950's Milwaukee Braves had several.

Thanks Larry! I couldn't have said it better myself! Kohl owns the Buck because he's a loser as a senator and this gives him recognition, and it keeps him getting reelected to the Senate where he contributes absolutely nothing other than a reliable party-line vote. He's done nothing for the Bucks that has accomplished anything! A new Bradley for a perpetual losing team? I don't think so!

Herb Kohl should keep his nose out of the teams business. He has made some choices in the past that were good people but he interferes and they all just say bye, bye Herbie. They have never done well with him as the owner. Really don't care either. He want's a new Bradley , let him pay for it and build it. He then could put his name on the new one and stomp out the generous Bradley foundation that helps in many areas of our community. Very Democratic style of course.

Because he's INTEWEDM and it seems right to him/her that each and every Bucks fan should suffer the indignation of supporting a losing team just because Herb Kohl owns them! Perhaps the Southern Poverty Law Center would have a term appropriate to describing such a view. As for me, I'm left as perplexed as you are.

Good comments. City Hall hopes you have directed your attention away from our local budget. It has been 2-3 weeks since the so-called hard work was done. Nothing since then ? Hard to believe. It's an old political game. Say nothing, do nothing and they will forget. A few long meetings and they want ice cream, or your tax dollars.

What this state needs is a robust implementation of citizen initiated referenda at both he state and local levels. There are too many issues left in the hands of 'personalities' whose decisions can only be adjudicated in the public forum at reelection time. Real democracy demands that the people be able to exercise a peaceful veto whenever government goes wrong. And traditionally, this has meant the power of plebiscite.

Do you have an opinion or are you comfortable just suggesting issues? Exactly where do you stand on these and any other issues???? It's easy to sit back and say this and that should be an issue. Try going out on a limb and telling everyone where YOU stand.

Gerry G. Excellent Question. The media now controls which issues are important. Candidates are wary of the media. Special interests are the interests of the candidates. I will write a separate reply but the candidates and the media won't like it.

It is unfortunate that I have to use my own blog to communicate with city hall leaders because I have called Ald. Berg and the Pres. of the Aldermen, and no return calls yet. There comes a time when assumptions are made from silence. If you sign up for public service then you must perform. Senior citizens expect that. Their offer to attend the Finance Committee meeting and sit in silence and the final council meeting when the budget decisions have already been made is not ther democratic process. The Mayor should appoint at once a citizens committee to adopt and recommend an alternative budget. Smoke and mirrors don't work anymore.
