So much for tolerance. A Radical Michigan Gay Group Attacks Christian Church Service on Sunday. Yup, those gay people that Christians are to be so tolerant of, acted in a very intolerant, disgusting way during a church service. On Sunday, November 9, 2008 Michigan liberals sat peacefully through
announcements, worship and prayer for the sick, our nation and our
President-elect before staging a coordinated, disgusting and repulsive
attack on worshipers and the broader concept of the church itself at
Lansing's Mount Hope Church.
...Prayer had just finished when men and women stood up in pockets
across the congregation, on the main floor and in the balcony. "Jesus was gay," they shouted among other profanities and blasphemies as they rushed the stage. Some forced their way through rows of women and kids to try to hang a profane banner from the balcony while others began tossing fliers into the air. Two women made their way to the pulpit and began to kiss.
Don't expect the mainstream media to pick up on this.
Right Michigan reported more details about the attack: (My emphasis)
The "open
minded" and "tolerant" liberals ran down the aisles and across the
pews, hoping against hope to catch a "right winger" on tape daring to
push back (none did). And just in case their camera missed the target,
they had a reporter in tow. According to a source inside the church
yesterday there was a "journalist" from the Lansing City Pulse along
for the ride, tipped off about the action and more interested in
getting a story than in preventing the vandalism, the violence and
anti-Christian hatred being spewed by the lefties. We'll see what he
files and what his editors see fit to print. ...The
church's response? After things settled down, the blasphemy ended, the
lewd props removed and the families safe from fear of additional men
and women running into and past them the pastor took the stage and led
the congregation in one more prayer... not for retribution, or divine
justice or a celestial comeuppance (that's what I'd have prayed for)
but instead that the troubled individuals who'd just defiled the Lord's
house, so full of anger and hate, would know Jesus' love in their lives
and God's peace that exceeds human understanding.
I am thankful that this group of believers acted in a Christian way. Their actions speak volumes about their beliefs and character.
In case you haven't noticed, Christians are fast becoming the only group where intolerance is allowed. We better wake up. Side note: Any
media bias here? It is interesting that an Obama victory at 52.7%
(McCain 46%) is called a landslide or mandate, but California's Proposition 8, which
would outlaw gay marriage, passed by 52.4% (No 47.6%) and was called a narrow
margin. White powder sent to Mormon temples in Utah, LA: Letters
containing a suspicious white powder were sent Thursday to Mormon
temples in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City that were the sites of
protests against the church's support of California's gay marriage ban. [Hazmat crew determined it wasn't toxic.]

Well, today is the day. The day we go vote for president and our
other government representatives*. How will you choose which one? Will your choice be based on what the candidate promises to give and do for you? Or will the candidate's platform and character influence your choice? President
Lincoln said, "I know that the Lord is on the side of the right. But it
is my constant prayer that I and this nation should be on the Lord's
side." I am just speaking to people of faith here. The Lord
cannot bless a nation that embraces a culture of death concerning the
unborn. He cannot bless a nation that embraces homosexual marriage.
These 2 issues are clearly against His teachings in the Bible. You
cannot pick and choose which of God's principles you will obey and
which you will disregard. If you do, you are in effect creating your
own god, and putting that god before Him. That act violates the 1st
commandment: Exodus 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before Me." We
are created in His image, we don't create a god in ours.
On Sunday, our pastor challenged us to let God shape our thinking when we vote. As a
Christian**, your vote represents God's voice to the government. I
am choosing the party that supports a culture of life and believes
marriage between a man and a woman should be protected. That party's
candidates are John McCain and Sarah Palin. Is McCain perfect?
Everything I could ever ask for in a candidate? No. But he does
represent my Christian values. He also happens to support my American
values.
"...choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the
gods [idols] which your fathers served that were on the other side of
the river... But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
Joshua 24:15 *I am also voting for Jim Sensenbrenner and Leah Vukmir. **This statement was addressed to a Christian congregation. No candidate was endorsed. Obama's I'm against same-sex marriage but against ending it's practice via California's Proposition 8 rings about as true as Wisconsin State Senator Jim Sullivan saying, he is for Voter ID but not for a state constitutional amendment referendum question requiring Voter ID. It's doublespeak for I don't want the current situation to change, but don't want to be on the record as saying so.
Obama Says He is Against Same-Sex Marriage But Also Against Ending Its Practice In Calif.: Barack Obama's nuanced position on same-sex marriage
is on full display in an MTV interview which is set to air on Monday.
Obama told MTV he believes marriage is "between a man and a woman" and that he is "not in favor of gay marriage."
At the same time, Obama reiterated his opposition to Proposition 8,
the California ballot measure which would eliminate a right to same-sex
marriage that the state's Supreme Court recently recognized.
That's their Obama! Trying to be on both sides of the fence.

I almost forgot about this: the McDonald's boycott ended about 2 weeks ago. Family Research Council reports: The Big Mac attack on family values is finally over! After a five-month boycott, Americans finally got what they ordered-McDonald's
agreement to
stop financing the homosexual agenda. Back in May, the fast food giant
joined the Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce to the dismay of
millions of
customers who did not feel served. At the time, company Vice President
Richard Ellis refused to back down, even calling conservatives "haters"
in a
public statement. The American Family Association launched a national
campaign to force McDonald's to eat its words. And eat them, they did! This
week, McDonald's
announced that Ellis had resigned from the GLCC. In an email to
franchises, the company said, "It is our policy not to be involved
in political and social issues. McDonald's remains neutral on same-sex marriage [and the] 'homosexual agenda...'" We thank McDonald's --
and those of you who used your buying power to encourage values on the menu and in company policy.

If you remember, The American Family Association objected to McDonald's joining the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, making a $20,000 donation to that group, and placing a McDonald's executive on the their board back in April. McDonald's did not take the AFA's objections very seriously. This month, the AFA is dialing up their objections a notch; they recently announced a McDonald's boycott because of McDonald's refusal "to stay neutral in the cultural war over
homosexuality." From The Washington Post:
The [AFA] association asked McDonald's to remove itself from the chamber but
the burger-maker declined, leading to the boycott. "We're saying that
there are people who support AFA who don't appreciate their dollars
from the hamburgers they bought being put into an organization that's
going to fight against the values they believe in," Tim Wildmon, the
association's president, said yesterday.
"Hatred has no place in our culture," McDonald's USA spokesman Bill
Whitman said. "That includes McDonald's, and we stand by and support
our people to live and work in a society free of discrimination and
harassment."
"Hatred?" Who said anything about hatred? All AFA asked was that McDonald's stop supporting the Gay/Lesbian Chamber, a group the AFA sees as promoting anti-family values, such as same sex marriage. To be perfectly clear about what this boycott is NOT and IS about, the AFA has stated their position in plain English on their boycott page:
What the boycott of McDonald's IS NOT about- This boycott is not about hiring homosexuals.
- It is not about homosexuals eating at McDonald's.
- It is not about how homosexual employees are treated.
What the boycott of McDonald's IS aboutIt
is about McDonald's, as a corporation, refusing to remain neutral in
the culture wars. McDonald's has chosen not to remain neutral but to
give the full weight of their corporation to promoting the homosexual
agenda, including homosexual marriage.
I do understand that companies are looking to increase their customer base. The article explained,
Corporations increasingly are courting the gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgender markets for their buying power and trendsetting value. This
translates into corporate sponsorships of events, such as gay pride
festivals, and advertising targeted at nonheterosexual consumers. But let me see...McDonald's is looking to increase their customer base. Doesn't that mean they should avoid irritating the customers they already have? McDonald's mainstay customers are families or homosexuals? Can McDonald's ignore the wishes from a group that represents the main component of their customer base? I guess they think so. If you want to join the boycott*, you can sign the online petition at boycottmcdonalds.com. *This boycott is not really a hardship for my family--we don't eat fast food on a weekly or even monthly basis. When we did partake, we found McDonald's quality to be going down and gravitated toward other offerings.

I started boycotting Heinz ketchup* during the Kerry campaign. I never went back. I did not want to support a company that was tied to an agenda contrary to my beliefs if I could help it. But now THIS! Are you ready for TV commercials that push homosexual families as being normal? Heinz is currently running this ad in England. Watch the ad. I know there are homosexual families out there, but please don't try to push that this is normal. I cannot in good conscience support such a company. I vote with my pocketbook. No more Heinz anything--ever.
I am also sending an email to Heinz. You can do this easily through the American Family Association ActionAlert. If you would like to call Heinz, you can call their corporate headquarters by calling 412-456-5700 or their toll free number, 800-255-5750. The Heinz Corporation was started by Henry John Heinz, a Christian, in 1869. The Heinz name stood for wholesomeness. "Heinz broke with most of the food industry in his ardent support of the
Pure Food and Drug Act, and his company was one of the first to open
its doors for "public tours", to reassure customers that his products
were produced under sanitary conditions." What a sad turn of events this ad campaign is--the Heinz name now standing for homosexuals. *As mentioned in Just What Can You Find At Aldi's?, Kyder Ketchup has been our Heinz substitute since 2004. McDonald's has been showing it's true rainbow colors as of late, and I'm not lovin it. What next? Ronald McDonald coming out of the closet? (Ooh, not ready for that!)
On April 2, 2008, I received an Action Alert from American Family Association, a conservative Christian group. It informed that "McDonald's has signed on to a nationwide effort to promote 'gay' and 'lesbian' business ventures." Less than a week later, AFA sent out McDonald's rebuttal to the AFA's accusation that they are "aggressively promoting the homosexual agenda." AFA addressed McDonald's rebuttal: (McDonald's remarks are in bold, AFA's are in normal type.)
“While one
McDonald’s employee is affiliated with the National Gay & Lesbian
Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), McDonald’s is in no way ‘aggressively
promoting the homosexual agenda’ as suggested in the newsletter.”
To refer to Richard Ellis, who is the vice president of communications
for McDonald’s, as “one McDonald’s employee,” as if he is a teenager
flipping hamburgers, is disingenuous at best.
While “aggressively” is admittedly a subjective term, AFA
believes that giving money to and partnering with a homosexual lobby
organization is certainly an enthusiastic promotion of the homosexual
agenda.
“The NGLCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to support economic opportunities for the gay and lesbian business community.”
It is quite clear from the NGLCC Web site that that
organization not only supports “economic opportunities” for
homosexuals, it also lobbies Congress on a wide range of issues related
to the gay agenda.
This is the press release from the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce about McDonald's Vice President of Communications, Richard Ellis, being added to the NGLCC board. It also mentions Ellis is an active member on the Board of Directors for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. Today I received another Action Alert. It stated that McDonald's is still saying they are not a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. McDonald's Vice-President Jack Daly stated that although they gave the NGLCC $20,000, "Richard Ellis was elected to the NGLCC board as a private citizen and not a representative of McDonald's." Watch the ad and decide for yourself if Richard Ellis is acting as a private citizen. (If he is, why is McDonald's name used and logo evident?) "So
dedicated to promoting gay activities on public streets, McDonald's
sponsored the 2007 San Francisco Gay Pride parade with a television
commercial. In the ad, McDonald’s brags that it is 'a company that
actively demonstrates its commitment to the gay and lesbian community.'”
According to a OneNewsNow* poll, 83.64% of those surveyed answered, Yes, to the question, "Is the decision by McDonald's to help fund homosexual activism enough for you and your family to start eating at another fast-food restaurant?" Granted, the survey might have been from a conservative pool of people, but can any corporation afford to alienate that large of a customer group?
That article cited a similar incident with Wal-Mart a few years ago: "...two years ago, Wal-Mart joined the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of
Commerce. But after AFA representatives discussed the matter with
Wal-Mart officials, the company allowed their position on the Chamber's
board to expire -- and according to Wildmon, Wal-Mart is no longer a
member of the NGLCC."
If this is an important issue to you, send McDonald's an email (link is to pre-written email--use as is or write your own) or give their president, Andrew McKenna a call: Phone: 1-800-244-6227 or: 630-623-3000, E-Mail: Andrew J. McKenna, Since McDonald's are franchised, speak to your individual store manager and let them know how you feel about this affiliation. *OneNewsNow is part of the American Family News Network.
