Over 105 people attended our Friends' Family Fun Halloween Show last night, to experience the comedy and magic of magician Glen Gerard. Audience members were awed and amazed at Glen's magical expertise, and laughed at his jokes and wit. Many children also came in costume, showing off their Halloween spirit; we had Harry Potter, Spiderman, an astronaut, a fairy princess, and many others taking part in the magic show fun.
Our next event is our Friends of the Brown Deer Library Auction, which is next Thursday, November 13th at 6:30 pm.

Come One! Come All! It's the annual Fall Goods & Services Auction from the Friends of the Brown Deer Public Library! The Auction this year will be held on Thursday evening, November 13th at 6:30 pm, with a preview at 6:00 pm. There are lots of items, from sports events tickets, overnight hotel stays, restaurant certificates, to home decor items, china and crystal, collectibles, children's toys, books, crafts. And don't forget those special Library Friends Muffins!
Admission is free and refreshments will be provided. All proceeds benefit the Brown Deer Public Library.
Come and enjoy an evening of fun with the Friends and help support your library.

Help us celebrate Teen Read Week (October 12-18) by taking part in our Teen Book Challenge!
Read at least one age-appropriate book between October 13th and November 11th. Then write a short summary about the book, including anything you found interesting/liked/disliked about the book. Turn in your summary, and you will be automatically entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $10 Borders gift card! BONUS: You can earn extra entries for every book you read and write a summary for!!!
Summary sheets are available at the Reference and Circulation desks. Or if you feel inspired to write before you can pick up a summary sheet, just make sure you include your name, age, phone number, and the title and author of the book.

Join us on November 19th from 7:00-8:00 PM for our next adult book club.
We will be reading "Loving Frank" by Nancy Horan. Interested in discussing this book? Just register for the Book Club at the reference desk, and check out a copy of the book at the circulation desk. A number of copies of the book have been set aside just for the Book Club. Then read the book by November 19th, and come ready to have a lively discussion.
