The Brown Deer Public Library is going to be raffling off one copy of the highly-anticipated seventh book in the “Harry Potter” series. Don’t miss your chance to win a free copy of the final book in the series!
Just stop by the Harry Potter display in the children’s area, and pick up an entry form. Be sure to include your name and telephone number in the spaces provided, and return the entry form to the designated box. Must be age 6 – 14 to enter.
Bring the entry form back to the Brown Deer Library by July 18th, and drop it off in the entry box in the children’s area. No late entries can be considered.
All completed entries will be entered into the drawing for the copy of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows”.
The prize winners will be contacted by phone, and the prizes will be available to pick up beginning July 23rd.
One (1) grand prize winner will win a copy of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”.
Fifteen (15) runner ups will win a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut.

Terrific Tuesdays
Come & enjoy these special programs. All ages are welcome. Families are especially encouraged to attend.
June 19th “Bugs on Stage” Nature in the Parks Based on the book “The Bugliest Bug”, by Carol Diggory Shields, a puppet show will teach kids about insects, and they’ll see some real bugs up close. Some audience members will be transformed for a “bug” fashion show. 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
June 26th “Pinwheel the Clown” Starring Janice Despears Once again we will be visited by our favorite clown “Pinwheel”. She will be telling stories, doing a bit of magic, and maybe even making a live rabbit appear. 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
July 10th “Mystery” the Atwood Players Once again, Alan and Mary Ellen Atwood will be entertaining us with a theatrical production of their own making. In "Mystery!" a detective leads the audience on a clue hunt in an old house. 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
JULY 17th “Get a Clue on Cranes” Presented by Casey Gutkowski Everything you wanted to know about cranes (Big Birds) will be presented by Intrl. Crane Foundation Naturalist, Casey Gutkowski. A paper-folded crane will be offered each child. 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
July 24th Art Beaudry “Storyteller Extraordinaire” The master storyteller will visit us once again for laughs galore. If you enjoy side-splitting storytelling, this is the place to be. 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
July 31st Mary Tooley “Art in a Suitcase” Art in a Suitcase offers a program created each summer that corresponds to the summer theme, featuring natural science and factual information. Her program is highly interactive and concludes with a hands-on art project for which all supplies are included. Her suitcase is filled with folk art, fine art, science specimens, puppets and more! This year there is a mystery involving several mysterious animals. 7:00 – 8:00 p.m

Summer Storytimes June 16th – Aug. 11th
Stories for Young Ones Monday Mornings 10:30 –11:30 p.m. with Ms. Chris (Ages 3 & up, geared to slightly older children with longer attention spans)
Stories for Little Ones Wednesday mornings 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. with Miss Dana (An adult must accompany each child) (Ages 2 & up, geared to younger children)
Stories for Young Children Special Saturday mornings 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. with Ms. Chris & Miss Dana (These storytimes will be geared to the ages of the children who attend the first session)
Craft Activities will follow all storytimes for registered children ONLY! Register at first session, no fee

Summer Library Reading Records
For Children of all ages
June 16th through August 11th
Beginning June 16th come to the Brown Deer Public Library and register for the “Get a Clue @ Your Library” 2007 Summer Library Reading Program. At registration you will receive a reading record to keep track of your reading, (being read to also counts), raffle tickets for each set of prizes, and a “Get a Clue” Bookmark. This year you will have your choice of:
1)reading any 10 books of your choice and recording the titles inside the reading record, OR 2)reading any book(s) of your choice for a total of 10 blocks of time, and recording your timed reading on the back cover.
When you have completed your reading you may bring in your completed record for a “Congratulations Packet” This packet includes an assortment of tickets and coupons for attractions in the Milwaukee area. (See list of coupons posted in the children’s department of the library.)You will also have your choice of a “Get a Clue” Sticker.
