In the Race

Now, here, you see, it takes all the blogging I can do to keep in the same place.
If I want to get somewhere else, I must blog twice as fast as that!
You see, I'm in the Red Queen's Race...

How About A Little Woodstock?

By Janet Evans
Friday, Oct 17 2008, 10:28 PM

Woodstock music festival was held at Max Yasgur's 600 acre (dairy farm in the rural town of Bethel, New York from August 15 to August 18, 1969. Bethel (Sullivan County) is 43 miles southwest of the town of Woodstock, New York, which is in adjoining Ulster County.

Woodstock represented the counterculture of the 1960s and the "hippie era" to many people.  Thirty-two of the best-known musicians of the day appeared during the sometimes rainy, muddy, weekend. There was a Woodstock II, and other attempts have been made over the years to recreate the festival, but the original event has proven to be legendary. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest moments in music history and was listed on Rolling Stone's 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll.
